Canary Speech, the application that was born of a painful history

The voice can do amazing things. We sing, to scream, to whisper sweet words. Also we use to activate the device or to show who we are in the bank.

But scientists now believe that the voice tells us that when we have a disease. A US program, called Canary Speech is developed to analyze conversations using machine learning to test the number of neurological and cognitive diseases such as Parkinson's or Dementia.

The project was born from a painful personal eksperiencvë its co-founder, Henry O 'Connell.

"I was able to have a friend of 30 years, 6 years who were diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. My friend told me that when she was diagnosed with the disease said to be suffering from Parkinson's for 10 years, "says O 'Connell.

As most diseases, early diagnosis plays a key role in the management of conditions, but recently scientists have highlights the difficulties of correct diagnosis, with doctors often confused in explaining the symptoms. Canary Speech algorithms function by examining a speech to patients with specific conditions, including Alzheimer's, Dementia or Parkinson.

This will allow for a number of signs before and after diagnosis, including the type of speech used the phrase them and all the quality of the speech.
