Scientists have found that an easy exercise is as good as a hard workout to help people lose weight. According to the study published in the journal Physiological Reports, the intensity of exercise does not make any difference in the amount of weight lost.
This means that even people who focus on exercises with light can reach the same results.
38 men overweight and sedentary, and women post menopause with an average age of 52 years were required to be exercised five times a week and reduce the number of calories you take.
Participants in the study was made analysis of insulin in the blood and biopsy of fat at the beginning and end of the study, and found that in both groups lost the same amount of weight and had the same improvements in insulin sensitivity and metabolism in both groups.
Much of the positive changes were not affected by the intensity of the exercises performed.
"An important feature of our experiment is that we compared it with care groups, all participants received the same amount of calories and during training sessions, but also reduced the same amount of calories by eating less food. If you want to increase the amount of exercise as a target after the New Year then our study shows that the benefits were similar regardless place to do light exercises or difficult, or for a shorter time but intensive ", says Professor Dylan Thompson.
Exercising to lose weight easily explains to us study leader Professor Jean Philip Whalin.
"Three weeks of increases exercises combined with the reduction of the daily food has a dramatic impact on the health of all participants and the genes key to fat. However, our data show that what matters is how many calories operation being conducted in total, and not the intensity of exercise, "he says.
