Katanzaros Command agents have executed an operation in the territory of Italy against 54 persons accused of involvement in an international drug trafficking.
News Italian media report, according to which the operation was carried out by order of the Regional Anti-Mafia Directorate against a clan of the Calabrian Ndrangetës.
During the investigation were seized 8 tons of cocaine in Colombia destined for Italy and various amounts from 60 to 100 kilograms in Italy and other European countries.
"The operation confirms the report of privileged Ndrangetës South American traffickers, to deal with certain roles. Also shows the Calabrian mafia skills to manage drugs in many regions of the country, "said the Katanzaros anti-mafia prosecutor, Nicola Gratteri.
According to the senior official, cocaine arrived in Italy through the ports in Joe Tauro, south of "boot" in Genoa and Napoli.
