Six people were killed in a shooting in a mosque in Quebec, Canada. 8 others were injured. The attack occurred in the Islamic Cultural Center of the city is being investigated by police as a terrorist act.
In what is described as a coordinated attack, witnesses at the scene saw at least two aggressors dressed in black who opened fire on tens of believers gathered in the mosque.
According to local media reports, a person was arrested by security forces.
Regional leader Philippe Couillard said he will ask the National Assembly of Quebec to lower the flag at half-mast in honor of the victims.
On the mosque in Facebook are called for patience. "Wait until the investigation is complete before you spread the word. The situation is critical, "it said.
Justin Trudeau's prime minister condemned the violence and social networks conveyed his condolences to French and English. Couillard said in turn that Quebec supports Muslims. "Let us unite against violence," he wrote on Twitter.
