Bale played his first match for Tottenham in a friendly match against St. Patrick's Athletic on 12 July 2007, he was replaced after 80 minutes because of a foot injury. He laujti first official match for Tottenham on 26 August in a match against rivals Manchester United. In his second game with the Spurs, Bale scored his first goal for his team in the 3-3 draw against Fulham on 1 September, after he scored easily outpaced goalkeeper Antti Niemi .Bale managed to score against Arsenal in the London derby, he scored from a penalty stroke . He failed to score in the League Cup against Middlesbrough , this was the third goal in four games for 18-year-old.
Bale was replaced as a result of an intervention Fabrice Muambas game against Birmingham City on 2 December 2007. A scan revealed that Bale had suffered ligament damage in his right leg, Bale was successfully operated on 11 December . By February of 2008, it became clear that Bale will miss the rest of the season . Bales's first season did not end very well, he played a total of 12 matches in all competitions and only managed to score 3 goals.
