Southamton
On 17 April 2006, at the age of 16 years and 275 days, Bale became the second youngest to play for Southampton (after Theo Walcott who was 132 days younger), he made his debut in the 2-0 win against Millwall. Bale scored his first goal in the league with a free kick in a 2-2 draw with Derby County, Bale scored the opening goal at 1-1 [26].
Bale scored again in the stadium St. Mary's, against Coventry City, in the second game of the 2006-07 season, he scored another penalty stroke [27]. Bale was creating his profile as a free kick specialist scored another against West Bromwich Albion [28]. By 16 December 2006, the number of goals Bales was five, he had scored again to kick against Sunderland and Hull City
